Pushkar Lake is located in a small town of Pushkar in the Ajmer district of Rajasthan. If you want to know the gist of hindu religion you should visit this place. It is one of the most important pilgrimage spots for devotes to take a holy bath at here. Pushkar Lake is surrounded by 52 ghats. Legend used to believe a dip in this sacred lake will cleanse all sins and cure skin diseases. The lake is semi-circular in shape and around 8 to 10 meters deep. The three most important and oldest ghats here are the Brahma ghat, the Gau ghat and the Varaha ghat. The creator of this Pushkar Lake was god Brahma, when a lotus flower was fell from god Brahma’s hand this place was discovered.
